Giving me the chance to guide you through the Himalayas means for you:
I was born on 27th September 1987 in a typical Nepali village nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. My village, Thulo Syafru, is north of Kathmandu in the Langtang region, 2130 metres above sea level.
The mountains in the north have had a deep impression in my heart and soul since my early childhood. My mother used to tell me legends about the great Himalayas, which filled me with both admiration and awe. My search for the legends and mythical characters was to change into a passion for life time.
The area is home to the red panda and snow leopard. I grew up seeing trekkers of the Langtang, Gosaikunda and Tamang Heritage Routes pass by. All I want now is to pass on my love and knowledge of my mother land to travellers from around the world.
My childhood was peaceful and simple. My father was a farmer and used to cover a long distance every day to reach a piece of land we owned. I would accompany him often. The village school did not offer a good education, but my parents had no choice but to send me there. They couldn’t afford better. I always had a feeling that I was destined for life outside the village, and as I got older an opportunity came for me to study higher secondary and Bachelor study in Kathmandu. When I finished my studies, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
I began work as an independent trekking guide in 2009. I worked as an assistant guide until I could get my government license in 2011. Business has been flowing fast and steadily since then. And I haven’t once looked back!
My policy as a guide is to be honest, fair, passionate and organised. I can be quiet yet I also like to have fun, enjoying life as much as possible. I speak eight languages: Tamang, Sherpa, Tibetan, Nepali, Indian, and English. I am also learning German and French.
I can organise treks to any region of Nepal, for the duration you desire. You can choose exactly how you want your trek to be: how many days are spent trekking, what type of accommodation you stay in, if you require help with your luggage, how independent you want to be. I can also organise treks above 5000 meters, arranging camping where there are no lodges.
Due to my experience, knowledge and contacts, I will keep your trekking costs to a minimum, saving a lot of money on agency fees.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your trek in more detail.
I can also organise and accompany you on your sight-seeing trips to Chitwan and Bardiya National Parks, and other historical and cultural visits.
I can set up volunteer placements at a variety of social service settings, as well as organising cycle trips, filming expeditions and pilgrimages.
I assist in hotel bookings for city breaks and all transportation within Nepal.
Please don't hesistate to contact me for any enquiries, I look forward to hearing from you
